3rd Week
This week has been really good. I was able to find this one lady who was born in Costa Rica but she has lived in the states for 58 years so she speaks both Spanish and English. Her name is Nuralia and I talked to her about the Book of Mormon and just about her life and stuff. I invited to her to church and she was super happy afterwards and she was glad she came. She told my companion and I that we are her grandchildren now so she really likes us. She also stayed for the second hour of church so we will see what happens. But she said she might not be able to come next week but we just need to teach her and then we can get her baptized. She also travels a lot for work so she's hard to get a lesson with but we will see. We also had a cool devotional with the mission pres and the mission that was about how the mission is hard and sometimes you won't have success but he told us to hang in there and the mission president told us that the Lord is just pruning us now so that later we can bear more fruit or more baptisms. The scripture he shared was John 15:2 which is, "Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit" And it reminded me of the love the Savior has for us that He loves us enough to be "purged" or tried and tested so that we can grown to our full potential. It then reminded me of a quote from President Hugh B Brown, "Someday... when you are laden with fruit, you are going to say, "Thank you Mr. Gardner, for loving me enough to cut me down." So my testimony is that even when things get hard and you feel like giving up remember that it is all out of love and for you to achieve all the Lord has for you and eventually have eternal life.
We had lunch at the Cheese Cake Factory today it was good but expensive so that was nice to have a really nice meal. And the other pictures were when we had Christmas dinner at a members house and she just kept giving us food but it was really good not sure what I ate but it was good. My Spanish is getting better but I don't speak 100% Spanish so I don't need it as much. Thanks for everyone's prayers and thoughts I really feel and appreciate all of them.
