Baptism In Rockaway
Hello from Far Rockaway,
This week we had another baptism. It is hard to take credit but.... we will. The missionaries that we replaced had been teaching Dannette and she was almost ready for baptism. We taught her one lesson and invited her to be baptized. Dannette agreed and was baptized that week.
I am starting to get use to the area and learning to teach again in English. I taught this week in English and it is a bit of a change for me. It is weird to have to think of words in English.
The rest of my week has not been to eventful. I talk to a lot of people and invite all to come to church. Of course we get turned away at times and some listen but aren’t interested. I pray we are planting seeds.
We are keeping our eyes to the sky. Hurricane Lee is churning up the coast headed our way, but is suppose to stay off shore. The hurricane is stirring up some spectacular storms though. I wish I could sent a video of the lightning off the coast, it is awesome. The ocean is crashing harder into the beach and you can hear the roar of the waves which is really impressive. I’ll send a couple pictures of the beach but it does not do justice to power of God’s creation.
I came clean this week to my dad about some pants. Let's just say I learned that the temperature setting on the iron is important. When the iron sticks to the pants, that’s a problem. It happened when I was in Connecticut, but figured it was time to come clean. It started with, remember those blue pants? Luckily I have two pair. I can say I’m not only learning about missionary work.
I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. They are felt and heard. God strengthens and blesses me from your support. Missionary work is blessing my life and those I come in contact with.
