Walking The Streets

Greeting from Far Rockaway

This week was another week of street contacts. The weather has hampering our efforts due to all the rain. Tropical storm Ophelia has been running up the coast. I am learning about the  weather that comes off the ocean. It is overcast a lot of the time and rains frequency. I am sure the humidity plays a big part.

I went to Manhattan this week for interviews. My companion and I had to come early to bring other missionaries into town so we decided to get off the subway a few stops early and walk the streets of Manhattan. Believe it or not, I felt safe the entire time. We had to avoid Times Square (we stayed a block away) but did walk down the sidewalks near the iconic building you would recognize. I took a few pictures for you to see.

We had two baptisms this week. They are form Puerto Rico. We have been teaching them for a couple of weeks. They are brother and sister (Jeidilian and Omar). They are very humble and were searching for God and peace. When they heard the Gospel they immediately felt the truth. They speak both English and Spanish so it was fun to speak both languages with them.

I love being a missionary and see the change it makes in peoples lives. I know the Gospel is true and the Lord knows and loves each of every one of His children.
