2 Baptisms

Greetings family and friends,

This week we had two baptisms. We had a recent convert bring her friend to church. Her name is Karen and she was interested in the Church so we started teaching her. We have been teaching her for about 3 weeks and she was baptized this week.

The other baptism was a Haitian. We were tracting and he was sitting on a bench. His name is Jean Louis. We invited him to come to Church and he said yes. He doesn’t speak English or Spanish only French. We had to use a translation app to teach him. He came to all our lessons and Church every week. He accepted baptism and the ward has been great to help him out.

I had zone conference this week. We travelled to Woodside which is in Queens. The general topic was about the importance of church attendance and the sacrament. It was very motivating to hear about how the willingness of people to attend correlates to baptism. If you don’t come to church, you're not going to endure to the end.

I got an awesome package from home this week. My parents send a Halloween package. I received a study guide for the Book of Mormon, beef jerky and a ton of candy.

The weather here has stayed nice. The high’s are staying in the 60’s and low’s in the 40’s. I keep getting warned about when winter hits, so hopefully I’m out of this area before then.

Thank you for all the support and prayers
