Flushing Week One

First week in Flushing, complete. I have learned a new Chinese word, church. This is how it is said, 教会. Everyone got it? Good, because I’m not so sure myself.

My first week here has not been that big of a deal to adjust. One difference is we don’t have a car. We walk or take the bus to wherever we need to go. The church is only a 5 minute walk from where we live so no bus on Sunday. Most of our contacting people is within walking distance as well, so the bus isn’t a huge part of what we do here.

I spoke in church this week. This is my second time since I have been out. I spoke on the Restoration which was pretty easy to do because we teach that all the time.

This week we had a baptism, Joshua Ji Kwang Chun. He was born here in the states but has Korean parents. He has been taught for some time from the missionaries before I got here. He kind of went MIA for a while, then returned to Church. He was able to meet the requirements and chose to be baptized so we were able to take care of it Sunday.

Tomorrow we have zone conference which is always something I look forward to. I also think I get to go to the temple this week. Marissa who we baptized last week got a temple recommend to do baptisms for the dead. We got an invite to go with her so of course we are going to jump on that.

I testify the Restoration did occur. We have a living Prophet today and the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I love being a missionary and bringing others the light of the Gospel.
