Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a great New Year. This week I am coming into transfers. I have been in Far Rockaway for three transfers and assume I will be moving to a new area. I will miss the view over the Atlantic but now the weather is colder I will be glad to be away from the ocean.
This week I had two baptisms. Marie and Merrill got baptized. Marie is from Haiti and Merrill is from Alabama. They are not a couple but two separate people.
We had a mission devotional over Zoom on Sunday. We were presented with the new Mission President and his wife. We were read their bio and saw a picture. They are form California. President Holmes and his wife will complete their mission at the end of June.
On Christmas we were invited to dinner at the Senior Missionaries home. We had a nice home cooked meal. We had ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables and a roll. It was good to sit down with our district over a nice Christmas meal and just relax and enjoy the time together.
One of the most difficult things in Far Rockaway is seeing the same people over and over. There are some new move ins that we notice and we talk to them. This is how we found Marie. The regular people we see either ignore us or tell us to go back to our own neighborhood.
Far Rockaway has been the most difficult area I have been in so far. This is due mostly
to not a lot of new faces to talk to and the loud few who are miserable and want others to feel the same.
I have been studying a lot in Alma this week. Chapter 32 has stuck out in my mind. This
chapter talks about the seed and what it grows into. Your Testimony and Faith are like
a seed that is nourished and will grow. I know this to be true and love being a missionary for Jesus Christ.
