Been A While
Holy cow, it’s been a while. There is not a lot to catch you up on, but here we go. I have gone through another transfer. I am staying in Flushing. I have a new companion, Elder Morgenegg who is from Colorado. He has been out for 7 months. I have been in Flushing now for just over 5 months. It will be 6 months when next my next transfer comes.
We are still doing a lot of street contacting. We had a guy by the name of Luis who was on date to get baptized. He all the sudden dropped off the radar. We lost contact with him and he hasn’t reached out so we had to move on. Sad to see, but it happens.
We had an interesting sacrament meeting a couple of weeks ago. A guy giving a talk, (actually telling more of a story) talking about his job he just retired from. Our recent convert / baptism, Kenneth raised his hand and the guy talking called on him. The convert asked about metro trains and why the 5 train is slower and this and that. They had quit the conversation, right in the middle of sacrament meeting. It’s a fledgling flock, they will get it figured out.
We had our last meeting with our mission president. He is getting ready to leave June 24th. We sort of had a devotional, then spent the day with him at a local park. President Holmes is very generous and humble and gave great life advise. I will miss him having grown to love him as my president. It will be interesting to see how the new mission president may or may not change things. I will only have 4 months under the new mission president.
We have a baptism this week. His name is Darwin and he is from Ecuador. He was a media referral and we reached out to him. We had a few texts and a short phone call with him. He didn’t show up to church so we assumed he may have dropped off. He contacted us and we invited him to church were we were able to teach him. He is a humble person and is desirous to join the church.
The weather here has been getting hot and I’ve dug out my short sleeves. It got kinda hot fast but I’m surviving.
When I met with President Holmes he was teaching me about how God is working with us and doing so individually. He told me about how you should do a self evaluation every month. You should ask yourself the first three temple recommend questions. Be honest with yourself. If you need to do better then do it and get on the right path. Keep correcting and be prepared to meet the Savior.
I appreciate all your support and prayers.
