Patience

Happy Labor Day. Everything is going well in the Bronx. I have another week and a half here then I have transfers. That will be my last full transfer before I come home. I am staying two extra weeks after my last transfer to help out a Spanish trio. I can’t believe how fast it has gone. I have loved being here and doing missionary work, yet I have missed everyone and look forward to reuniting.

Since my last email, we have had another baptism. Her name is Rosa from the Dominican Republic. Rosa was a referral from the missionaries in Philadelphia. She was being taught in Philly and moved to the Bronx. We finished up the lessons and she was baptized.

Last week we went to a some members houses with the bishopric. We did the sacrament for them. One was an elderly couple and the other was sick. It was amazing to be part of blessing someones life with the Priesthood. They cried in gratitude that they were not forgotten and knew the Lord was aware of them and sent his servants to bless them.

Last P-Day I went to Manhattan. It is funny to think that I have been so many times that it’s not that exciting anymore. I wandered around with the new Elders as a tour guide. Strange to think a kid from northern Utah is tour guiding in Manhattan. I have been studying Mosiah 24. One of our recent converts has been asking about how to get more patience. Mosiah talks a lot about patience in this chapter. Alma and his people were under bondage from King Laman. If Alma’s people were caught praying they would be put to death. Alma and his people poured out their hearts to the Lord and he granted them deliverance because of the Covenant they had with God. I also shared with her a talk titled “After the fourth day” by Elder Bassett from General Conference in April 2023. It states, “As we move forward with faith in Jesus Christ, the fourth day will always come. He will always come to our aid”.

I know that if we keep our covenants and remember that deliverance will come from our trials, on the Lords timing, we will be blessed by our patience.
