End Of First Transfer

Image
This transfer was longer than a normal transfer it was 7 weeks instead of 6. My Spanish has improved since I first got here but i still have a ways to go but it's fine. My companion is leaving to Burmuda so I am going to get a new companion to finish out my training for this second transfer. This transfer has been tough but a really good learning experience for me and I have noticed how much I have grown in only a month and a half. The ward had an activity about Lehi's vision in the Book of Mormon and the ward cut down a tree and put it in the gym at the church so it was cool. Me and my companion played parts in it. He was Nephi and I was Lemuel. It was fun to do and bond with the ward members. This past week has been hard for me and my companion for finding people to teach but God saw our efforts and we had a miracle yesterday. So a guy we taught really liked the gospel and the restoration and even passed his baptism interview. But he had friends going to another church so we ...

Week Idk

These past two weeks have been really busy so sorry I didn't get an email out earlier. So kind of a crazy story but when I was at the church last Sunday my ZL needed my phone for a second and he left it on a table at the church. And before my companion and I were about to leave we went to go grab it but it wasn't there. So we started looking for it around the church but after like 20mins of searching it was no where to be found. Luckily this phone was the one the mission gave me and I had a phone my parents sent me at my apartment so we just had to set the other one up. The problem was I couldn't remember my church account password so I couldn't set up the new phone. So I called up the tech help desk in SLC and we got it all figured out by the end of Monday. So I didn't have time to write an email my bad. We ended up getting a call from a member later in the week whose kid took the phone thinking it was their parents but we got the phone back now. We have our first ...

Week 4

Was just kind of a normal week not a ton happened. Some things that stuck out to me was we taught a guy who was from Columbia and he came all the way up to the United States for work and more money because his mom has cancer and he trying to make the payments for her treatments. So that really humbled me that he would come all the way for his mother his family so he was a really cool guy. There are a lot of immigrants here that come for a better life and It's been really humbling to me. The weather here has been pretty much the same just cold and rainy. We had interviews with President Holmes and he is really awesome and is a very driven and motivated person but also really loving and patient so he is a really good guy. It's been a pretty normal week not too much has happened. And the picture is the Hartford, CT temple but I haven't been there yet but I want too.

3rd Week

This week has been really good. I was able to find this one lady who was born in Costa Rica but she has lived in the states for 58 years so she speaks both Spanish and English. Her name is Nuralia and I talked to her about the Book of Mormon and just about her life and stuff. I invited to her to church and she was super happy afterwards and she was glad she came. She told my companion and I that we are her grandchildren now so she really likes us. She also stayed for the second hour of church so we will see what happens. But she said she might not be able to come next week but we just need to teach her and then we can get her baptized. She also travels a lot for work so she's hard to get a lesson with but we will see. We also had a cool devotional with the mission pres and the mission that was about how the mission is hard and sometimes you won't have success but he told us to hang in there and the mission president told us that the Lord is just pruning us now so that later we ...
